Overview
Skopje is the capital of the Republic of Macedonia, the City that lies in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, at the crossroad of important communications, a city with 2000 years old tradition. Skopje is a modern city with a population of almost one million and presents Macedonia’s major political, economical, educational, and cultural center. It continues to be a focus for new residents, economic development, construction, and refurbishment. Skopje urban area extends across the Skopje valley for approximately 30 kilometers (18.75 mi) in width and comprises 10 municipalities.
Skopje also is a very attractive tourist destination with its fortress, cultural and historical monuments, archaeological sites, sports halls, caves in the canyon of the River Treska and Lake Matka, and a health spa in the eastern part of the city.
Accommodation
Hotel 5* – HB basis (plus an additional cold meal in between)
The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have only 2 double rooms which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers. If the group wants to extend the stay they need to send their request to the organizer.
The application deadline is 10 June 2022.
After receiving your application, we will send you the official invitation for participating in the Festival. We will also assist you in obtaining a visa for Macedonia if necessary.
The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. The copyright of all video materials and pictures are ownership of the Organization of the Festival. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions.

Itinerary
The intention of our invitation is to celebrate life, love, and friendship through dance and music. The festival light motive is to gather groups from all over the world and remind ourselves of the events worth remembering.
The International Folk Dance Festival “Skopje” will be held in Skopje from 23rd July till 27th July 2022. This festival is a non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances and music performed by folkloric groups.
At the festival can participate in folk or modern dance groups, vocal, instrumental groups, and choirs with 30-32 participants per group older than 16 years.
During the Festival each Group will be part of 3 concerts in the center of the city of Skopje. The performances will be in the evening hours so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting the historical part of the city.
Free excursions: Swimming pool, ZOO, Millennium cross cable car visit.
The objectives of the festival and the creativity meetings are to encourage cultural exchange between nations and communities, to develop personal creativity, and to promote local and foreign folklore.

The participant group has to arrive in Skopje on July 23 rd 2022 starting with lunch and leave on July 27 th 2022 after having breakfast and leave the rooms till 10:00h. The groups should pay the travel expenses by themselves to Skopje and back.
The groups coming by bus will park their bus upon arrival and use the transportation provided by the organizer of the festival, during the festival days including the small journeys around the city. Each member must have travel insurance policy.
Free Parking
The festival organizers will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from Airport, and back to the same airport. The cost of the transportation will be covered by the organizer and the group will not have any financial obligations.

- Take a ride with a modern cable car to the top of mountain Vodno
- Enjoy water activities at the local Aqua Park
- Sightseeing trip to Canyon Mata
