Overview

Sestu is a town in the metropolitan city of Cagliari which has about 20,000 inhabitants. It occupies a strategic position in a territorial context in full evolution. A center of strong attraction and growing socio-economic development, thanks to the construction of new residential, industrial and commercial settlements, it is in continuous expansion, without however neglecting the search for the right combination of modernization and tradition.

The major events of the Sestu - Sinnai history are present starting from 1729 there were pestilence and famine that halved the population. On May 18, 1752 the granatic mountain was founded, also called mountain of relief, wanted mainly by the canon Francesco Ignazio Guiso, who participated in the act of foundation together with the priests of the church of Sesto and the mayors Antonio Sunda and Antioco Loi Jorge-to fight usury and alleviate the damage caused
by recurrent famines. A particular importance must be attributed to the town of San Gemiliano where a church stands (XIII century), in memory of the Bishop of Cagliari (Gemiliano) who was martyred under Nero.
San Gemiliano has been a popular place of worship for over seven centuries, in fact, the people of Sesto celebrate the martyr twice a year: the last Sunday of May and the first Sunday of September, with five days of celebrations from Tuesday to Friday, in concomitant with the harvest period and abundance; The village, in the pre-nuragic age, consisted of a set of huts (about 60) arranged in irregular rows. Only the base of these huts has been found. The huts are thought to be made of hay and frank, which is why they are very fragile. In the vicinity of the huts there were found remains of
food, stone objects and ceramics, and again arrowheads, scrapers, axes and blades, the most
used material to build these tools was obsidian.

General Rules

Groups performances must be included in a range of 15 - 40 minutes. Performances will be performed in various locations so, total number of kilometers traveled within 10 days of our festival will be about 1.200. The festival program may be modified at the discretion of the organization at any time during the festival.

The performances will always take place late in the afternoon so, usually, no performances are scheduled in the morning (except maybe for 2 mornings). So guests people may use their time freely and, if they decide for some short trip through Sardinia, a guide can be provided for free by the festival organisation. As well as, for groups who doesn’t have their own vehicle, a bus can be booked by the festival organisation but the rental will be charged to that guest group.

Entry to festivals is restricted to a maximum field size of 30 members than at least must be over 14 age;

Accommodation

Groups arriving by their own bus have to pay a contribution of € 100 for each person. Groups wishing to bring more than 30 people must request authorization from the organization, people exceeding 30 will pay the contribution fee per person of € 200. Bus Drivers (up to 2 drivers for each group) will not pay any contribution.

Groups arriving by flight have to pay a contribution of € 150 for each person. Groups wishing to bring more than 30 people must request authorization from the organization, people exceeding 30 will pay the contribution fee per person of € 300.
