Overview
International orchestra festival-contest “Spring Symphonies” is a one-of-a-kind event that offers orchestras a platform to showcase their skills and passion for music. This orchestra contest attracts talented participants from all around the world, making it a truly global event.
Additionally, the contest in Spain is particularly noteworthy, as it is a unique opportunity for orchestras to perform in one of the most culturally rich countries in the world. The contest in Spain provides a perfect setting to learn from and engage with fellow musicians from various cultures, which can be an invaluable experience for any aspiring musician. An international jury consisting of experienced and recognized professionals in the field of music will evaluate the performances of orchestras and select the winners.
All of our programs consist of two parts:
1. Participation in the competition and festival
2. Participation in the Festival without competing in the competition*.
* For those who don’t want to participate in the competitive program, but wish to participate in the festival. They will still participate in the other festival activities including: joint rehearsals, workshops and master classes, where they receive advice and an official certificate from the renowned international experts during a brief discussion in an open and friendly atmosphere.
Non competing participants will also perform at international friendship concerts combining different kinds of art.
Communication with other participants, an open exchange of experience as well as a lot of master classes with internationally recognized experts, will certainly bring you to a whole new level of creativity!

ADDITIONAL FEES
- Small groups of 3-5 people pay 35 euros per person.
- For each additional nomination for small groups up to 10 people – surcharge 30 euros/person.
- For participation in the additional nomination for groups of 11 persons and more – surcharge 295 euros per group.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
*Each contestant in the group can additionally request a personalized diploma and medal for 14 euros (before the competition, is given during the award ceremony). This option is ordered by up to 90% of all participants.
*Additional letters of appreciation on a numbered State Emblem paper of the Kingdom of Spain can be requested for 10 euros (before the competition). This option is ordered by up to 80% of all participants.
*Add excursions to your stay (this option is ordered by up to 90% of all participants).
*You can order a personalized written commentary from the jury 70 euros/per performance (before the competition).
*Those who come to Spain, can supplement their stay package with lunches in the hotel (buffet).
For persons under 12 years old – the cost of lunch is 6,60 euros.
For persons over 12 years old – the cost of lunch is 9,90 euros.
*Services of a professional photographer and cameraman – your personal video clip at the contest (prices to be specified).

WHAT IS INCLUDED INTO THE PRICE:
- 5 days and 4 nights in a three-star hotel or in four-star hotel;
- half board, buffet (breakfast, dinner+ drinks; lunches for additional price – cost €6,60 for children under 12 years old, €9,90 from 12 years old);
- two concerts: competitive viewing and Gala Concert with Awarding ceremony;
- diplomas from the contest providers (one per group/category);
- special thank-you certificates in the form of engraving on a special base (for groups from 5 people);
- thank-you letters for leaders and sponsors on the official numbered letterheads of the kingdom of Spain (included 2 letters);
- festival fee;
- Live streaming of the Gala concert on YouTube.

CATEGORIES:
- GROUP (А) – Brass bands and ensembles
- GROUP (B) – Folk orchestras and ensembles
- GROUP (C) – String Orchestras and Ensembles
- GROUP (D) – Mixed orchestras or ensembles
- GROUP (E) – Jazz bands and ensembles
- GROUP (F) – Chamber Orchestras and Ensembles
- GROUP (G) – Vocal and instrumental ensembles and orchestras
- GROUP (H) – Marching Orchestras
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:
- Each orchestra or ensemble should prepare a competition program with a total duration of up to 15 minutes.
- The repertoire is chosen freely by the participants, but it must reflect the artistic and stylistic features of the category in which the ensemble or group is competing.
- All works must be performed live. Use of phonograms, pre-recorded instrumental parts, or lip-synching is strictly prohibited.
- The program can include one or several compositions, provided the total duration does not exceed the time limit.
- The order of performances is determined by the organizers and cannot be changed by participants.
- Stage plan and any special technical requirements (placement of instruments, chairs, stands, percussion, etc.) must be indicated in the application form in advance.

JURY AND EVALUATION CRITERIA:
Information about members of the jury of the contest “Spring Symphonies” will be published later.
The jury has the right
- not to award all the prizes;
- to share prize among performers;
- to award special prizes to teachers for outstanding achievements;
- to make a decision about breaking a performance which exceeds the bounds of the regulations;
- the jury evaluates the participants on one hundred-point system, the final result is made up of the average quantity of the received scores and the average value of the progress scores;
- the jury’s decisions are final and are not subject to review.
Evaluation criteria
- The degree of virtuosity and technical freedom;
- Scenic culture, artistry, creative individuality;
- Degree of complexity of the repertoire;
- Harmony of all instruments, teamwork.
AWARDS:
The jury evaluates the participants on 100-point scale.
Regarding the genres of performing and categories the awards are distributed due to seven age groups
- participants who received up to 70 points become diploma holders;
- participants who received from 70 to 79 points – laureates of the third degree;
- participants who received from 80 to 89 points become laureates of the second degree;
- participants who received from 90 to 99 points become laureates of the first degree;
- participants who received 100 points become Grand Prize winners of the contest “Spring Symphonies”.
- Grand Prix winners receive a big cup and diplomas (one per group/category);
- First place winners receive a standard trophy and diplomas (one per group/category);
- Second and third place winners receive diplomas (one per group/category);
- All contestants receive diplomas with their results (one per group/category).
*Groups of 5 people or more, receive a special engraving from the city authorities.
*Each leader and sponsor of the group receives a letter of thanks on stamped paper of the Kingdom of Spain.
*Each contestant in the group can request a personal diploma and medal for an additional fee (before the competition).
DRAFT FESTIVAL PROGRAM:
1st day:
– check-in to a hotel from 14:00 pm;
– meeting with the organizers of the contest;
– presentation of the excursion programs;
– dinner.
2nd day:
08:00 – breakfast;
11:00 – rehearsal;
13:00 – lunch (if you have ordered this option for an additional cost);
14:00 – beginning of the international orchestra festival-contest “Spring Symphonies”;
19:30 – dinner.
3rd day:
08:00 – breakfast;
13:00 – lunch (if you have ordered this option for an additional cost);
14:30 – an excursion is possible for an additional charge;
19:30 – dinner;
21:00 – visit to a flamenco show with vine, sangria, champagne, and other drinks (for an additional charge).
4th day:
08:00 – breakfast;
09:00 – excursions (for an additional charge);

20:30 – Gala concert and Awarding ceremony.
