Overview

Malta, with its strategic position at the center of the Mediterranean Sea, has always been a crossroad for exchanges of cultural diversity, also due to so many Nations who have ruled over this country throughout its history. This is why the island's folklore tradition is very old, strong, and widespread. The aim of this International Festival is to make sure that the different folk traditions from all over the World meet up in Malta, for reciprocal cultural exchange and enrichment.

Malta is also definitely one of the most important countries in Europe’s tourism sector. Rich in history and charm, with a great sense of hospitality towards visitors and above all with a warm temperate climate. During the free time, participating groups will have the chance to relax and explore the various unique cities and villages of this magical island full of history. Hence we would like to invite you to discover this reality, perhaps at the most beautiful time of the year.

Accommodation

FESTIVAL PACKAGE -3 NIGHTS BED AND

- In double, triple, quadruple room per person € 245
- Single room supplement per personper night € 20
- Half board supplement per day (lunch or dinner, water

- Children up to 3 years: Free
- 1 free of charge package for every 25 paying guests
- For extra persons, who are not performers (friends, family, etc) there is a €5 supplement per person per night

This Package includes:
- 3 nights accommodation in a 3 star standard Hotel
- Daily breakfast
- Tourist tax
- Transfers from the Airport/Harbour to the Hotel – arrival and departure
- Transfers from Hotel for all performances
- Assistance by our personnel
- Festival registration

N.B.
* If due flight itineraries, or else if you prefer so, you will have to spend extra nights, arrangements can be done.
* Included in this package/price is one transfer for the group to & from the airport to the hotel. No transfers can be made for participants arriving at different times but we can arrange upon request.
* Each group is responsible for airfare/transportation to Malta.
* Participating groups should take these Festival packages.
* Extra nights have a cost of €46 per person per night, BB
accommodation (bed and breakfast).
* When confirming your participation, you will be asked for a deposit of 30% of the total amount.
* The deposit is not refundable.
* Full payment must be settled by not later than one month from the Festival dates. Any persons from the group, who opt to cancel their participation, for any reason even if this is beyond their control, will be
only refunded if this cancellation is effected up to 10 days before the Festival dates. In the 10 days preceding the Festival, no refunds can be issued.

Itinerary

The first five editions of this festival were a huge success, with the participation of several groups from several European countries, such as Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Austria, Spain, Estonia, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Turkey, Russia and of course from
Malta and Gozo.

DRAFT FESTIVAL PROGRAM

Friday 24th October
- Arrival of all’International folklore groups in Malta.
- Transfers from the Airport to the Hotel, situated at Bugibba/Qawra/St.Paul’s Bay/St. Julian’s – the most touristic venues of the island

- In the evening, all groups will perform at a particular town, together with Maltese folk groups.

Saturday 25th October
- In the morning, groups can opt for an optional cultural excursion to one of the most beautiful places of Malta.
- In the evening, all groups will perform in another Maltese town, together with Maltese folk groups.

Sunday 26th October
- In the morning, all International Groups will parade along the main streets of the capital city of Malta – Valletta.
- Following the Parade, there will be the presentations to all participant groups by the Maltese Authorities and the Festival Organisation.

Monday 27th October
- Departures of all International folk groups.

If a group has an early arrival or a late departure, we can organise other optional cultural excursions, such as the ones to the Three Cities, Mdina – the old capital of Malta or else to Marsaxlokk – The fishing village… and other wonderful locations.

N.B.

The programme of performances can be adapted in due course. Final programme can be issued only after having confirmations of all participating groups including also the Malta ones. Each group is responsible for airfare/transportation to Malta.
