Overview
Skopje is the capital of the Republic of Macedonia, the City that lies in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, at the crossroad of important communications, a city with 2000 years old tradition. Skopje is a modern city with a population of almost one million and presents Macedonia’s major political, economical, educational, and cultural center. It continues to be a focus for new residents, economic development, construction, and refurbishment. Skopje urban area extends across the Skopje valley for approximately 30 kilometers (18.75 mi) in width and comprises 10 municipalities.
Skopje also is a very attractive tourist destination with its fortress, cultural and historical monuments, archaeological sites, sports halls, caves in the canyon of the River Treska and Lake Matka, and a health spa in the eastern part of the city.
Accommodation
The accommodation of the participants will be organized with new modern dorm rooms located near the center of the city on a Full Board basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner). The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have only 2 double rooms which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers. If the group wants to extend the stay they need to send their request to the organizer.

Itinerary
The intention of our invitation is to celebrate life, love, and friendship through dance and music. The festival light motive is to gather all groups from all over the world and remind ourselves of the events worth remembering.
The International Folk Dance Festival “Skopje” will be held in Skopje from the 15th of September till the 20th of September 2021. This festival is a non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances and music performed by folkloric groups.
At the festival can participate folk or modern dance groups, vocal, instrumental groups, and choirs with 30-32 participants per group younger than 16 years.
During the Festival each Group will be part of 2 concerts in the center of the city Skopje. The performances will be in the evening hours so you can plan the day ahead and use it for visiting the historical part of the city and choose any intresting excursion.
Free excursions: Swimming pool, ZOO, Millennium cross cable car visit.
The objectives of the festival and the creativity meetings are to encourage cultural exchange between nations and communities, to develop personal creativity, and to promote local and foreign folklore.
The application deadline is 01 August 2021.
After receiving your application, we will send you the official invitation for participating in the Festival. We will also assist you in obtaining a visa for Macedonia if necessary.
The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. The copyright of all video materials and pictures are ownership of the Organization of the Festival. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions.
