Overview

The International Folklore Festival "Under the Spanish Sun" will take place in Lloret de Mar, just 70 kilometers from the city of Barcelona. Its Mediterranean climate and more than 5 kilometres of spacious white sand beaches with every convenience invite you to spend a day by the sea and its stunning coastline makes it an ideal location for the festival.

Take a stroll around the old town center and find architectural sites like the 18th-century Church of Sant Nicolau or the late 19th-century Peixateries Velles (old fish market). Another interesting place is La Pilona, a rocky platform in the middle of the sea, which a century ago was used for loading cargoes of iron.

Festival-goers can enjoy the beautiful beaches and immerse themselves in the rich culture of the town, making it a first-class coastal destination.

Accommodation is an important aspect of any festival, and the International Folk Festival "Under the Spanish Sun" has made sure to provide the best possible options for the participating groups. The festival organizers have arranged for the groups to stay in comfortable 4* hotels located in Lloret de Mar.

The hotels offer full board, which means that the groups will be provided with three meals per day on a buffet basis, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is prepared with the highest standards, ensuring that the participants have a delicious and healthy meal during their stay.

The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds, each with its own bathroom. Each group is entitled to two double rooms that can be used for their leaders and drivers.

Furthermore, the festival organizers have also come up with a special offer for the participating groups.

For every 25 participants, the 26th participant will be given free accommodation. This is an excellent opportunity for the groups to save on costs and bring along as many members as possible.

Itinerary

The International Folklore Festival "Under the Spanish Sun" is a celebration of traditional dances from around the world, bringing together folklore groups to showcase their cultural heritage through music and dance. Unlike other competitive festivals, "Under the Spanish Sun" focuses on the joy of sharing and promoting traditional dances, making it a non-competitive event.

The festival welcomes a variety of performers, including children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. The age of participants is not limited, encouraging everyone to join in and share their love of dance.

During the festival days will be organized 2 Open Air Concerts with a Professional Stage & Sound System in the city center Lloret de Mar

Detailed Festival Program will be given to you 1 month before the start of the festival.

To make the travel arrangements for participating groups more convenient, the organizers have taken the initiative to organize transportation for groups arriving by plane. The festival organizers will pick up the groups from the airport and transport them to their accommodations.

During the festival days, transportation will be arranged to take the groups from their hotels to the festival venues and back. This will ensure that the groups can focus on their performances and enjoy the festival without any transportation hassles.

The cost of transportation will be covered by the participating groups, and the expenses will be additionally agreed upon according to the group's size. The festival organizers will work closely with the groups to ensure that their transportation needs are met and that they can travel in comfort and convenience.

Experience the passion and music of traditional Spanish Flamenco music and dance with an additional show of knights on horseback, carriages and a carefully choreographed game of sword fighting and medieval battle between four competing factions of knights. 3-4 hours show program and one drink: sangria, champagne or fruit juice.

Have an unforgettable experience! Enjoy half a day at the wonderful world of Aspro’s parks. Swim, cool off, play with the water and then… relax, rest and sunbathe in the quiet areas on the lawn around the pool, where you can feel nature all around you.

7. Dali Museum + Georna

Discover the Salvador Dali Museum at Figueres and the magical medieval town of Girona, the two of the most famous attractions in northern Catalonia.

Dali Museum – is a museum of the artist Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. The heart of the museum is the town's theatre that Dalí knew as a child. The museum displays the single largest and most diverse collection of works by Salvador Dalí.

Gerona – known for its medieval architecture, walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) and the Roman remains of the Força Vella fortress. Landscaped gardens line the Passeig Arqueològic, a walkway following the Old Quarter’s medieval walls, which include watchtowers with sweeping views.

8. Montserrat

Place where spirituality, nature and history come together. The mountain and Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, founded in the 11th century, are located in a natural park 60 km west of Barcelona.

It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary. The mountain is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock. Montserrat is Spain's first National Park.
