Overview

Coves of deep blue sea, beaches of golden sand, natural parks, medieval towns...This is the tempting combination of Costa Brava.

This is the area of Catalonia from Blanes to Portbou with fascinating cities like Girona and old fishing villages with little whitewashed houses like Cadaqués. Undoubtedly a great place to enjoy the pleasant climate of the Mediterranean, visit some of its Michelin-starred restaurants, or follow the Empordà D.O. Wine Route.

N.B.

If due to flight itineraries, or else if you prefer so, you will have to spend extra nights, arrangements can be done.

If the group arrives by air/sea, it is possible to arrange special rates for the transfer from Barcelona or Girona airport to the Hotel and back.

The Group will be accommodated in one of the mentioned affiliated hotels, subject to avalaibility.

Each group is responsible for airfare/transportation to Spain.

Participating groups should take this Festival accommodation package.

When confirming its participation, a group has to pay a deposit, of approximately 30% of the full cost. The deposit is not refundable.

Full payment must be settled by not later than one month from the Festival dates. Any persons from the group, who opt to cancel their participation, for any reason even if this is beyond their control, will be only refunded if this cancellation is effected up to 10 days before the Festival dates. In the 10 days preceding the Festival, no refunds can be issued.

Extra nights can be arranged for €50 per person per night on half board basis.

Itinerary

The Festival will be held the weekend after Easter, and it will serve as a perfect conclusion for the Spain Holy Week Celebrations, which are definitely amongst the most popular around the world.

Apart from that, the Festival will be held in one of the most beautiful regions of Spain, the Catalonia area, where all the International Choirs participating are going to meet up and exchange their cultural and choral views and their respective countries traditions.

Apart from the popularity of the Spanish Holy Week celebrations, as already stated, the Catalonia and Costa Brava Maresme region are one of the most touristic regions in Spain. Costa Brava is a marvelous place spreading over an area of 160 km and well known for its unique large sandy beaches, unexploited nature and various fishing villages. Costa Brava is also well known for its medieval villages with unique castles and fortifications, which are so much appreciated by tourists who love art and architecture.

Apart from the famous Barcelona city, which each year attracts millions of tourists, there is also Girona, another popular tourist site in this region, so famous for its gothic cathedral which rises right in the medieval historic city centre.

For all this and for much more, this International Festival will be a unique occasion for all participant choirs, who will be able to be part of the conclusive celebrations of the Spanish Holy Week celebrations, by performing in various beautiful baroque churches in this region, together with local Spanish choirs.

The Festival will be spread over 3 days, between the 10th and the 12nd April, 2026. The Festival is not competitive, and is open for mixed choirs, male choirs, women choirs, youths or kids choirs, sacred music choirs, gospel choirs, folk music choirs, etc.

Each choir can perform in its own style, but must keep in mind that this Festival is being held in Catholic Churches and so song list must include sacred songs, with an Easter theme if possible and maybe even gospel songs. Other songs maybe freely chosen also. Each choir can perform "a cappella", or can be accompanied by piano organ or other musical instruments.

The Organisation will arrange for the use of the respective churches piano organs. If the piano organ of a particular church could not be used, it will be replaced by an electric piano/keyboard. Any other instruments must be brought over by the respective choir.

All choir groups will be accommodated in a 4 star Hotel on half board basis.

DRAFT FESTIVAL PROGRAM:

Friday 10th April

Arrival of choir groups in the morning (groups must arrive before 13:00 hrs) and transfer to the Hotels in Costa Brava Maresme, either by their own transport directly to the Hotel, or else by air to the Barcelona or Girona Airports and then with arranged airport transfers by the Organisation.
Buffet lunch at the Hotel
In the evening, the first Festival Night in one of the local baroque churches.

Saturday 11th April

Buffet breakfast at the Hotel and free time for leisure

For those interested there will be optional cultural excursions to places like Barcelona, Girona, Tossa de Mar, etc.

Sunday 12nd April

For those interested, they can join one of the optional excursions to splendid villages and cities of the Catalonia region.

In the evening, the Final Night of the Catalonia International Easter Choir Festival 2026. During this final night, Local Authorities and the Organisation Committee will present participation mementos to all choirs participating.

Departures of all international Choirs

N.B.

Groups can arrive or depart from Costa Brava, a day before or after the scheduled programme, due to flight itineraries. Arrangements will be made according to the groups necessities.

Each group is responsible for airfare/transportation to Costa Brava - Spain.

The above is only a draft programme and may be amended as necessary by the Organisation.

The final Programme including concert venues, details and time of performances, will be defined after the Organisation has the full confirmation of all choirs participating, including the Spanish ones, around 10 days before the festival.
